Chet is the husband of member Karen Cooney

Chester "Chet" A. Cooney (18 November 1936 - 12 July 2022)

Chet (Chester) A Cooney passed away on 12 July 2022 and now is reunited with his son, Todd A. Cooney and grandson, Ian A. Cooney. Chet was born on 18 November 1936 in Pasco, Washington to Lyle E. and Almamae (Kittrell) Cooney.
Chet graduated from Pasco High School in 1955 and grew up in a very closely knit neighborhood in Pasco. Many of his classmates and neighbors were lifelong friends. I'm sure when Chet and those friends and neighbors, who have gone before him, meet again there will be some tall tales shared.
In 1960 Chet married Betty Nelson. They adopted two children, Todd and Kelli. Chet and his family lived in a home below Rimrock Dam for a while. He later built an A frame home on the Nile Loop Road near Chinook Pass where he and his family lived a number of years.
In 1989 Chet met the love of his life Karen. In the nearly 33 years of marriage they did a lot of camping in the mountains, road trips to Yellowstone, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, Oregon and Washington coasts, the East Coast and numerous trips to Maui. As well as numerous trips to the mountains in his 1948 Jeep he called Brownie, which was his pride and joy.
A special thank you to Crescent Health Care staff. At Chet's request he will be cremated. A Graveside service will be held at a later date in Oregon. Memorials are suggested to your favorite charity in Chet's name.
